CP Certification Study Guide
Use this certification study hub to move from corrosion fundamentals into CP 1, CP 2, CP 3, and CP 4 study paths with supporting guides, formulas, practice questions, and interactive quizzes.
CP Certification Study Path
Cathodic protection certification study should be organized by level. CP 1 learners need strong terminology, basic corrosion-cell theory, measurement fundamentals, and safe field habits. CP 2 learners need deeper test methods, rectifier awareness, criteria interpretation, and field data judgment. CP 3 learners need design logic, current requirement calculations, anode life, attenuation, interference awareness, and defensible survey interpretation. CP 4 learners need senior-level judgment over design review, troubleshooting, interference, testing programs, and technical decision-making.
These pages are independent educational study resources. They are not official AMPP materials and do not replace the current body of knowledge, course manuals, exam policies, standards, or employer-specific training requirements.
Choose a Certification Level
CP 1 Certification Study
Start with corrosion fundamentals, CP terminology, field measurements, reference electrodes, and basic criteria awareness.
CP 2 Certification Study
Build technician-level field judgment for survey methods, rectifiers, test stations, readings, and basic troubleshooting.
CP 3 Certification Study
Focus on CP design, calculations, criteria selection, anode systems, current distribution, and defensible interpretation.
CP 4 Certification Study
Review senior-level engineering judgment, program evaluation, interference, complex troubleshooting, and design review concepts.
Recommended Study Workflow
- Read the core learning pages before attempting question banks.
- Work formula pages by hand until the units and assumptions are clear.
- Use static practice pages for explanation-based review.
- Use interactive quizzes only after you can explain why wrong answers are wrong.
- Return to standards-context pages whenever a question depends on criteria, test condition, or documentation quality.
